Greetings
Greetings,
I came across this site from a link listed on my forum by W.E.B. Du Bois. Looks like an interesting community. I see you have the "Welcome Headers" for vBulletin installed. Gotta get around to that.

Yep, I clicked your username in the active users list and clicked the link. Also noticed that CHUQ had the MAC-SOG avatar, which further piqued my interest. My foster dad was also in SOG during the Vietnam War.
I know alot more about military matters that an average layperson, but I'm not an expert by any means, having no military experience and having never enlisted.
I went through the enlistment process, but was told I'd have to go through the green-to-gold program to become an officer, despite scoring a 111111 on my physical profile, a 94 on a 30-min ASVAB, and having three years of college under my belt.
I'll have to take a look at the community bulletin board... haven't seen it yet, perhaps you can provide a link? And what's the other hack?
And thanks for the welcome... I'll probably lurk more than anything as my "web warrior" days are well past, and I task myself with administration duties.

A military unitin Vietnam. Orginally it stood for Special Ops Group, then it became Studies and Observations Group. Very covert and still very secret.

I do not know if they were an elite group, but, when I was there, the basic grunt in the SOG was a person with authority probs and did not care if they lived or not. If by elite you something special--then yes.
You may ask anything and I will answer if I can.

It was a joint force comprised of the special forces of all branches: Green Berets, Army Rangers, Navy SEALS, Marine Recon. They did stuff like HALO drops, counter-guerilla warfare, LRRP. They generally operated in teams of 3 Americans and 9 indigenous (Montagnards, Hui, etc.) in dangerous territory. They also performed NASTY boat raids.
The gov't didn't acknowledge their existence until 1988, I believe. They are believed to be the precursor to Delta Force, if it does indeed exist

Yeah, I'll hook you up with those links. Gimme a bit of time on them. I've been real busy working on this site. Actually, I gotta question for ya, if you feel like your up for a little V-bulletin technical challenge.
I'm having problems putting hypertext links on our frontpage. I'm trying to make the Vbadvanced do it. I created a "template" and then added the links in it, but it comes out looking like crap (as you can see). I asked for help in the Vbadvanced forum, but I just figure, hey why not ask?

Thanks
BTW, feel free to lurk or do whatever you want. We're a pretty chill forum.

AdminCP > Styles & Templates > "Default Template name" > drop down "Edit Templates"
You can edit the header, footer, navbar. Header and footer are pretty intuitive if you know HTML. If you need help with the navbar, just say so.
