Hello from Southern Oregon

Still registered Republican, still embarrassed and shamed I voted for current administration first time around. No excuses. Considered an economic doom and gloomer by blind patriots on another forum, prefer threads with posters who don't purely rely on talking head sound bites for their knowledge base, for abortion, for guns, agnostic, against capital punishment based on cost, pro-gay, fiscal conservative who views our thoroughly corrupt one party political system as self-serving labels periodically changing office.

Hiya George--welcome to the neighborhood--a very good place to exchange views--personally, I think they will tell you I am the extreme left--think politicians are worse than preachers. So enjoy and get to posting.

That's what "they" do.

Why ?

Because "we" LET them. "We" are fragmented and beyond organization and largely ignorant and apathetic, so "they" can do whatever they want to.

All "we" can do is bitch and moan and content ourselves that we're "making a difference" with our vote.

It's a sham.

Of course it's a sham. There's one self-serving party that periodically changes labels to hold office.

Yes, and we'll do nothing about it.

Bitching and moaning online about the govt. does nothing more than make US feel good at the moment

Fortunately I'm old enough that it really doesn't matter to me other than not accepting a line of government BS. Our children and their children are in for a very rough ride.
