Hillary has the Ambition

WASHINGTON - Let's talk about the most interesting "H" word in national politics - Hillary.

Is she running for president?

Most signs indicate she is, even though The New York Times is aghast that she has a little less than $14 million on hand with which to launch her campaign, in contrast to the $36 million she spent to win reelection this month. (She won against a virtually unknown candidate with 67 percent of the vote.)

Is that "run Hilary, run" chant?

Who do you think she would pick as a running mate?

Hillary is iffy at this point. I hear a lot of talk about Obama and Edwards as running mates. It's early yet but I haven't heard who might run with Hillary if she runs.

That would be cool.

I think the Democrats need some new faces to reflect a change of the old-school liberals.

While Hillary Rodham Clinton tops every national poll of likely 2008 Democratic presidential contenders, the New York senator is dogged by questions of "electability" - political code for whether she can win enough swing states to prevail in a general election.

This is an excellent question. If she runs can she win?

Right on there. Obama looks like a strong candidate, but Republican candidates haven't really emerged yet. I think that Obama's winning factor is his stance on gay marriage and his deep religious views (the two are linked). The religious voter is, whether you like it or not, a growing voice in America and not one that can be ignored if a candidate wants to win.
