Unfortunate! But I think that will be the plan in the upcoming political circus. I guess we will have to wait and see whose cajones are the bigger.

McCain is a right-winger perceived as a moderate. That's a good thing. It means he can be a conservative and enact conservative policies yet maintain popularity.

Depends on what issues are most important to you.

On some issues, no one can run to his right. Fiscal conservatism and the war on terror.

On others, yes, he's moderate. Campaign finance reform, social issues, and immigration.

Basically, the social conservatives see him as a moderate, but economic conservatives and national security conservatives see him as the best candidate by far.

Has McCain lost his luster?

The iconoclastic Arizona senator and former Vietnam prisoner of war, who has been Conventional Wisdom's choice to snag the GOP presidential nomination in 2008, is losing clout in some national polls

Why is he losing his luster? What can he do to pump it up?

The Cincinnati Post - Has McCain lost his luster?
