Yeah, you get enough change together you can buy yourself a slice of pizza. Good enough for a meal.

You refer to "the people of Western Democracies", yet you put the UK flag as representative of your country. Does that mean that you are not British?

Why did you choose the name you did for this site?
Why did you choose the avatar you use?
Do you use your signature to inform, or amuse?
Do you use a word program to correct all your mistakes before you post?

1. a. Because I've always admired the "Freedom Riders" of the 1960s, the civil rights activists who hepled challenge the Jim Crow laws
b. I like the song named "Freedom Rider" by Traffic (although I don't think the song has anything to do with the civil rights movement.)
c. I thought it sounded cool and appropriate for a political forum.
2. My avatar doesn't mean anything, its strictly for my own obnoxious amusement. I will probably change it soon, I'm already growing tired of it.
3. The quote from Eisenhower in my signature serves as a reminder of just how extreme to the right that the republican party has swung, compared to 50 years ago. Also, I happen to think that we could cut our defense spending down by 10 fold and still be just as safe as we are now.
4. Lord knows I should. Thank goodness we are able to edit our posts after they are made!

Were you a freedom rider?
Anytime I see a reference to freedom riders it reminds me of that movie "The Lady Killers." There was a character who was a freedom rider and was explaining to another character, one of the Wayans brothers, that he was not a racist, he in fact was a freedom rider, a group of progressives who came from up north to make sure that young people like him could have the chance to vote. This explanation came after they entered into an argument. The kids reply was (real apologetically at first) "You know man.... I don't vote, so fuck you!" Then they started fighting again. Anyways, I thought it was funny. If you haven't watched the movie I'd recommend it. It is really funny, as long as you can handle very foul language.
