How the Left stole Xmas

How the "Left" Stole Christmas
or

The Month Before Christmas

Twas the month before Christmas
When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.
See the PC Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas - no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a "Holiday".
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.
As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate "Winter Break" under your "Dream Tree"
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.

Choose your words carefully, choose what you say

Shout
MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday!

I'm not much for being PC so I'll always say
Have a Merry Christmas, on Christmas day.

Great poem by the way.

I'm not even Christian and I still say Merry Christmas (but I also add "Happy Holidays" usually because it's the "holiday season".) Sometimes people have too much time on their hands.

I wonder if the same people who don't like to hear the word Christmas complain when they get a Christmas bonus every year?

Anyways the show was a good one.

I try not to pay attention to a lot of the PC arguements.
It seems there are a lot of traditions falling by the wayside.

I'll keep doing what I'm doing. If some tells me I can't do something , I'll do it twice as much.

I still call Squaw Mountain, Squaw Mountain, not Native American Hill.

I don't really see how these people can have the balls to say that Christmas should be secularized. I mean, you might not believe in what someone celebrates, but that doesn't mean that you have the right to change it. Especially these business, you know, if it weren't for "those crazy christians" there would not be a Christmas and they would be out one hell of a shopping season. The least thing they could do is show a little appreciation for having a reason peddle their nonsensical nick-nacks by not trying to turn it into a strictly shopping season.

Funny, what kind of non-issues are argued about in the US...

But if you want to have my thoughts. Every business man shall do in this regard as he likes, but if you ask my personally, I think its not very christian to abuse religion in order to get people buying more and more stuff they do not need. (I have nothing against a decent christian behavior and styling. But what shops are doing nowadays is far beyond that.)

What would have Jesus said? The very sole plus point is, that its not in the temple. But our "temples" today are the shopping malls anyway...
