Anyway, do you have any idea how much more work that would be for Locke? Sending out a message with a different map to each individual...
If I was motivated enough, maybe I could write a java applet for you .

Anyway, fog of war would make wars more interesting, you could prepare surprise attacks. Locke would need maybe 30 minutes per day to draw such maps (map would be drawn only once, and then he would draw units for each player on his copy of map + enemy units that can be seen).

You really could not use fog of war in this game. The game is about coordination and back-stabbing among the players. In order to have those things, you need 100% visible information. How can France coordinate with Russia to backstab Italy, if France cannot see the position of Russian and Italian armies, and Russia cannot see the position of French and Italian armies?

Very easily - they could exchange coordinates of their armies by private messages (by sending my view of map to him and vice versa). Moreover they could lie to each other (if they only transmitted coordinates, and not the whole map), which would make the game even more interesting.

That does sound interesting. I will raise a logistical complaint though. There has been great difficulty in the players of this game getting their moves in on time. I don't think that the game could withstand another complication which causes turns to take longer.

It was an interesting idea though.

My apologies players, my desktop computer has been wigging out on me in the past couple days here, it just doesn't want to cooperate. I'm using a friend's laptop computer right now. Luckily, all my diplomacy data is stored on an external hard drive, so that's not an issue, I should still be able to work on it. However, don't be surprised if there are slight delays here and there--and I apologized in advance. I am awaiting retreat order clarification before I post the Spring 1907 Retreat map and the Spring 1907 Retreat results map. Because of this delay and the fact that some strategies rely on how the retreat orders turn out, orders for Fall 1907 movement will be pushed back to tomorrow at 8 PM central.

Once again, I'm sorry, it's not anything I could control--but all the same, the inconvenience is irritating I'm sure.

Still don't see retreat map... but for my moves, regardless, I'll turn them in tonight. I'm off during the weekend, all of 2 days
I'll send any other necessary orders along with it, and I trust/beg of WEB or Kaz to make the necessary retreat orders. Build will be submitted

Alright, we have a slight problem. I do not have convenient online access right now. My computer is sitting on the shelf in the repair shop, hopefully they'll be able to do something with it. I don't know what was wrong, but it wasn't letting me access the operating system. I might have to have someone sit in for me as GM for a brief while so I can sort this out. I have the Diplomacy files on a hard drive, and they can be opened in any installation of JDip (so that's not a problem--if someone is willing to take over for awhile). The times I've been online are unreliable at best, I don't think it would be fair or good for me to just impose a random schedule on you (which is what I'd practically have to do). So for now, I have all the orders and Diplomacy files necessary for someone to stand in temporarily, I know this is irritating--it's frustrating for me as well. Sorry guys, I'm trying to get this worked out, the retreat maps will be posted as soon as we can get this figured out and the Fall 1907 moves can be re-submitted after that if you wish.

Awwwww maaaan.

The only other person who is qualified to do this would be Kaz. Interested, Kaz? If not, then I'll do it.
