I prefer the sweet science of boxing, in particular, the weight classes of middleweight and below, which don't get the credit they deserve because for some crazy reason, the average person thinks boxing is only represented by today's sloppy heavyweight division. But I can appreciate the UFC and how it has evolved in the last decade or so.
At first, there was a real difference between strikers and grapplers, but today, it seems that fighters can now do both, though the strikers could still use more technique in throwing their punches, especially the left hook, which many of them throw very wide and sloppy, but that's a common trait among many martial artists and kick boxers.
I used to be an amateur boxer, and even won a welterweight title in the local Golden Gloves tournament in 1996, but I've also taken a couple of years worth of martial arts and two years of Thai Boxing. I'm not a very skilled grappler, especially when it comes to the offensive, but I can understand enough to watch it and appreciate it.
