UFC

Anyone else a UFC fan? I am a die-hard MMA fan (particuliarly UFC). Getting ready for the debut of season 5 of TUF followed by Fight Night 9.

TUF 5 should be good. I love BJ Penn. One of my favorites. I had the privelage of getting to roll with him a while back. He's one of the best BJJ fighters today. His flexibility is insane. He should beat the crap out of Pulver.

I sent in an application for TUF 6. Getting on that show would be a dream come true.

So where are all my UFC fans?

I'm personal friends with ex-UFC Champ Mark "The Hammer" Coleman.

I prefer the sweet science of boxing, in particular, the weight classes of middleweight and below, which don't get the credit they deserve because for some crazy reason, the average person thinks boxing is only represented by today's sloppy heavyweight division. But I can appreciate the UFC and how it has evolved in the last decade or so.

At first, there was a real difference between strikers and grapplers, but today, it seems that fighters can now do both, though the strikers could still use more technique in throwing their punches, especially the left hook, which many of them throw very wide and sloppy, but that's a common trait among many martial artists and kick boxers.

I used to be an amateur boxer, and even won a welterweight title in the local Golden Gloves tournament in 1996, but I've also taken a couple of years worth of martial arts and two years of Thai Boxing. I'm not a very skilled grappler, especially when it comes to the offensive, but I can understand enough to watch it and appreciate it.

Hardcore MMA fan here. I personally like the UFC more than Pride but I like them both. As far as TUF goes its ok and I enjoyed the first season but haven't seen any since. I'm more for the actual fights than the often times childish antics of the fighters on the TUF show. But it is good because it has brought more people into the MMA universe.

Stoner good luck in getting on there and let us know if you do. You may want to cut back on smoking though as the do rigorous drug screening for the show. Unless of course you just picked Stoner and Herbologist as some strange joke.

Since everyone's listing their disciplines mine are BJJ, Kickboxing, and Combat Submission Wrestling.
