Bloody metrosexual traitor... (grumble, grumble)

At one point, Beckham was the best striker in England. These days he isn't as good as some of the younger players in terms of speed, but he's got experience now, so maybe that makes up for it. He was captain of the England team for ages. However, he was recently (and shockingly) dropped from the team.

He used to play for Manchester United, one of the most high-profile football clubs in the world. He was paid more than anyone else. Then he moved to Spain to play for Real (don't know if I've spelled that right) Madrid. Where he was paid even more, making him one of the best paid players in Europe.
Amazingly, he'll be paid even more in America.

There are other reasons he's so high-profile. He's famous for his low intellect, girly voice, ridiculously over-styled hair, and marriage to Victoria, who was "Posh Spice" in the most famous (and awful) girl band of the mid-90s, the Spice Girls.

They have a huge mansion that the tabloid press have dubbed Beckhingham Palace (like Buckhingham Palace, the Queen's London palace).

I really only heard of this guy when they started talking about him coming over here, so if you guys want to give us some examples of why he is stereotypically regarded as an idiot I would appreciate it. Just interested.

Well he is not such idiot, a very talented, exprienced and popular player but only objection against him : he worths higher than what he play just because he is more popular out of pitch .... He is always in the headlines but usually not with his soccer abilities...

He's not an idiot as in he does really stupid things, he just gives the impression of not being too bright.
