Separately, a federal judge in California extended a moratorium on executions in the nation’s most populous state, declaring the state’s method of lethal injection violates the constitutional ban on cruel and unusual punishment

There was a study done some years ago about attitudes to capital punishment (think it was a scandanavian country). In societies where execution is legal, the majority support it, when it's removed from that same country, within 5 to 10 years, public attitudes have done a complete 180.

It's interesting what people will consider acceptable when they're habituated to it.

Sounds like this problem is an easy fix. Just get someone who is capable of inserting a needle in the right place.

I wonder how much consideration was given to the victims as far as cruel treatment goes? I have a hard time feeling sorry for the criminals.
