Damn, another shooting in the US

BBC NEWS | Americas | US students hurt in bus shooting

US students hurt in bus shooting
Two students were critically injured and four others hurt when they came under fire as they left a school bus in Las Vegas, US police say.

The six were all either middle or high school students and were shot just before 1400 local time (2200 GMT), the Associated Press news agency reports. At least two people are believed to have taken part in the shootings, a police officer said.

It was not clear if the suspects had been on foot or in a vehicle. According to local newspaper Las Vegas Review Journal, the six students were shot near a bus stop on "Alexander Road at Walnut Road".

Two are believed to be in their late teens and the others are believed to be juveniles, it said, adding that one of those hurt is a girl. Two male casualties were reportedly shot in the torso and the others apparently suffered less serious wounds, the newspaper added.
We've had so many shootings these past few days: the Omaha mall shooter, the mega church shooter, and now this one. Damn.

I think we in the west, as as a society, have become spoiled. I think the causes have a spiritual root. We have become a society of professional victims. At the same time, there is this whole culture of "get even" -ness.

It is sad,... my prayers go out to the victims of this senseless act.

It is a break down of American society. There is no sense of self responsibility or morality anymore. Today's parents don't know how or simply don't care to raise their children.

This is why I carry a gun with me where ever I can. If you carry a gun and get shot at you can at least stand a chance against the bastards.

While these reports are troubling, I do place some of the blame on the media who sensationalize these types of activities. It's not like these kinds of things didn't happen in the past, it's just that now they are being reported more.

On 12\11\2007 I posted a threads called "GUNSHOTS FIRED".
I ask a question then and on this thread I ask the same question.
How do we know these cowards were insane?
Were they not sane enough to get a weapon and know how to use one?
And a majority of the time do these cowards kill only innocent victims.
Most of the time it's a school or mall, or college, or a workplace.
If these people are so "insane" how come you never find them on the bad side of town?
How come they don't go on gang turf and start shooting?
Suicide bombers aren't insane and I say neither is this trash that kills innocent victims.

You can't really buy that, Mike.
Check out the movies of the 40's and 50's.
Compare the innocent people being killed by so called "insane" killers to today.
We had some pretty violent movies when I was growing up too.

I am not debating there sanity, but even if they were insane guns are not complicated. Most "insane" people would be able to use one.
