All whites are racist....
...At least according to a class that was taught at the University of Delaware.
Quote:
University of Delaware officials, who just a day earlier had defended a residence hall series of teachings on which WND reported that told students "all whites are racists," today announced the program is being stopped.
"While I believe that recent press accounts misrepresent the purpose of the residential life program at the University of Delaware, there are questions about its practices that must be addressed and there are reasons for concern that the actual purpose is not being fulfilled. It is not feasible to evaluate these issues without a full and broad-based review," said a statement posted on the school's website by President Patrick Harker.
"Upon the recommendation of Vice President for Student Life Michael Gilbert and Director of Residence Life Kathleen Kerr, I have directed that the program be stopped immediately. No further activities under the current framework will be conducted," he said.
His statement said the school "strives for an environment in which all people feel welcome to learn, and which supports intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, free inquiry and respect for the views and values of an increasingly diverse population. The University is committed to the education of students as citizens, scholars and professionals and their preparation to contribute creatively and with integrity to a global society. The purpose of the residence life educational program is to support these commitments."

Ha! I bet you all thought I was actually thinking that, weren't you? Anyway even though the program was stopped, the fact that it was even created in the first place makes me lose whatever respect I had for the University of Delaware.

What happened to the system of assuming innocence before guilt? That system was unconstitutional and I'm glad it's gone. I'm surprised that somebody didn't contest it in court.

I wonder who it was that began that program, and who was watching over it?

What the outline should've been:
RACE 101: "A study of racism, it's history, and how to combat it in the real world"

What would interest me most would be how many whites attended to those lectures
I mean there probably were some, dont you think so? Did they get nice T-Shirts for free with a nice slogan "Hi, you are looking at a racist"?

...I'll admit, when I saw the title of the thread, I thought Xibit had re-registered for the thousandth time.
Anyways, I'm glad the course is gone, but disappointed that it existed in the first place. You don't combat racism by accusing an entire people of being racist. That claim is a bit racist in and of itself.

I wouldn't say all whites are racist, in that "they consciously think one race is inferior to another or their race is superior".
I do believe all people born and raised in the U.S. have racial bias and also racial denial (meaning in denial about the reality and effect of race in America), especially those in the majority because frankly, they don't need to think about it, ever. Well unless they marry someone who is not white, date them, or are very very close friends with them, etc. Other than that I think most white people are oblivious to racial bias around them or that which they have.
They really have no concept of the sheer power dynamic between being 66% of the population who also holds a majority of economic/political power and the 33% who do not.
I also found that in Asia, the white people from the Anglosphere were the most likely to blow their top when someone Chinese or Japanese (the countries I lived in) openly discriminated against them for being foreign. The black people just expected it and usually didn't say much. The white people were not use to being minorities. It was obvious.
