It is duly noted that you said: If you've noticed, I don't comment to YOU at all.

Not a single post, original or otherwise, was specified. You said "AT ALL" which left no room for exceptions. And, it's clear you haven't "injected a simple comment" in the two threads of mine you claimed. The fact that you refuse to reconcile your bogus comment is proof of what I said.

It's really not that hard to tell who authors a thread. Please, go ahead and name those threads of mine where you made your 1st and 2nd comment.

Xibit, I just wanted you to know that I appreciate your Opening post and all the information in it.

A famous man who was assassinated for his fame once said: “it is hard to pull yourself up by your bootstraps when someone else is standing on your neck.”

What people fail to realize is that the man standing on the other mans neck taught his son and the neighbor kids to take his place.
As we move through time and away from the initial events of slavery and oppression in and of the country, people tend to want to distance themselves from their responsibility of their fathers teachings to them. So they excuse themselves from that responsibility by re-offending their father’s crimes against humanity and simply denying what they are doing.

They don’t care who they have to sacrifice to maintain their righteous illusions.
I am a white man, kind of pink actually, and come from a long line of racist southerners.
My father was teaching me to take his place too.

I woke up early and spoiled his surprise. Some people will not wake up. But more and more do everyday. Keep the faith.

You seem to be doing fine against the ignorance in ideologies that have challenged your post of insight.

Insight is interesting word. It annotates the need of a person to look into something before being capable of having a responsible understanding of it. Anything short of someone looking into things before replying to your insights is just blind reaction, as they were taught to do.

I am not too educated in race studies or in anything else for that matter, save my life experiences. But I am interested in what you are offering. The truth is refreshing. I’ll be watching and drinking it up.
Hope I can contribute along the way.

I’ll try to formulate some questions when I have more time.

We'll see what becomes of this. I do believe Boston has been the site of a study on mortgage discrimination.

Quote:
Countrywide accused of racial bias - Boston Real Estate Blog - Boston Globe

Three African-American mortgage borrowers from Boston accused Countrywide Home Loans Inc. of racial discrimination in a federal lawsuit yesterday, saying the nation’s largest home lender charged them more for subprime mortgages than it charged white borrowers in similar financial situations.

The lawsuit, filed in US Court in Boston, contended Countrywide violated federal housing discrimination laws because the black homeowners in Boston paid higher fees to the network of agents that generate Countrywide’s new customers. The company, the suit said, uses an ‘‘unchecked, subjective surcharge’’ that adds to the total costs of loans for its customers, and black borrowers, it contended, paid more than whites.

The suit seeks class-action status and more than $100 million to reimburse black customers of Countrywide and its subprime subsidiary, Full Spectrum Lending Inc., including about 10,000 in Massachusetts.

Countrywide denied the allegations.

‘‘No other mortgage lender has done more to lower the barriers to homeownership among historically underserved communities than Countrywide, and we do not tolerate discrimination in any of our lending practices,’’ the company said in a statement.

Gary Klein, the Boston attorney who brought this latest case against Countrywide, said yesterday that ‘‘other lenders engaged in similar practices. There’s potential national exposure in the subprime lending industry for a broad pattern of discrimination.’’

Klein’s lawsuit does not provide evidence of how Countrywide allegedly charged black customers more than whites. Instead, he intends to ask the court for internal mortgage information from Countrywide to compare lending patterns for blacks and whites in hopes of establishing a pattern of different treatment.

Those who make the OOWB argument often note how they skyrocketed after the 60's or so. Well, during the same time overall Black poverty went down. It appears that success, at least for Blacks, isn't that closely correlated to OOWB's.

For example:

Black Poverty during that time span went in the opposite direction and certainly didn't skyrocket or rise in a manner like OOWB's.
Thanks so much for the stats. It's good to have them for my own personal information. Just to be clear though, I wasn't referring to the OOWB's because it's a belief I hold--I was referring to it because it's a common argument when discusing systemic racism in white society. The belief, as I'm sure you're well aware, is that if minorities (mostly meant to mean black people) were to just be better, more moral people: such as not having so many OOWB's, then they could achieve what white people have.

My attmept was to point out how ridiculous that notion is.

Thanks again for the information.

MT, it was my fault for not being clear. When I said "interesting comment", I was referring to the opinion you expressed. When I said "those comments also often ignore [what] seems to be no net effect..." I was referring to the things other people say that you were contending with.
