REMORSE?

Mike Vick, a quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons has been charged with running an illegal ring of fighting dogs, and actually killing dogs for not being agressive enough.
Fighting dogs is an illegal sport where people fight dogs and bet on which one wins.
On the CNN. news chanel a spokesman for Mr. Vick said he felt "REMORSE" for his actions.
Of course this was after the investigation turned up enough evidence for an arrest.
I to felt remorse when I was stopped on I 75 for doing 90 mpg in a 65 mile zone, I even told the highway patrol officier that I felt real bad, but alas he gave me a ticket anyway.
If found guilty should Mr. Vick get a break because he showed remorce in this matter?
Gentlemen and Ladies I await your comments or views on this matter.

No way should he get a break!!! He was treating dogs horribly and was actually laughing about it and making money on it!!! He didn't feel remorse then, but now when they have enough evidence to arrest all of a sudden he feels remorse!!! There's no way he's being sincere, the only reason he said it was to make himself look better, lower the chance of being arrested, and try to fix his already broken NFL career!!! Put this guy away!!!

A very good post, but I guess I was hoping somebody would come up with Mr. Vicks anual; income from the NFL.
Since in the past some people that were tried in the Detroit area that were reported to have said they fought dogs cause they needed money.
The old I'm poor ,I can't get a job so I turned to crime routine.
However since pit bulls cost money and must be fed and trained to fight that didn't sit to well with the district judge.

Wow. Lock him up, and never let him play again. This shows what kind of screwed up, perverted person he is.

A 60 day jail sentence which he must pay for, a substantial forfeiture, 500 hours of community service at a humane facility, 100 hours of public lecutres about the need to provide proper care for animals and a public apology.

I own four springer spaniels so I personally would like to flay him and pour salt in the wounds.

He does not have "remorse". It's not as if he stopped ten years ago and they just uncovered that he did this and are arresting him for it. If he had remorse he would have stopped after the first fight. This is a story-book case of "Sorry I got caught". He should lose his job in addition to whatever he gets as a "punishment". Anyone else would.

I agree that the NFL should bar him from further play because of criminal acts. But the NFL has a history of looking the other way when players commit crimes other then those game related, such as gambling.
