IPod Oblivious
Just heard on CNN that a new law is being considered for NYC--you will be find $100 if you are caught crossing a street while using a cell or listening to an IPod. Not bad, what is next to be outlawed in NYC?

You put on an iPod and don't pay attention to your surroundings and get hit by a car. So this is new step we're taking in protecting morons, huh? Jesus, what a load of crap. All I see with banning Trans Fats and banning not paying attention and banning marijuana and banning this, that and the other are the words Nineteen-eighty-four.

I am sorry, but I DO NOT want the government to protect me from myself. If I am a dumb-ass I deserve whatever occurs.

Well they have to protect the tax-payers, otherwise who'll pay them?

Well, I think the problem arises when you put your iPod on, put the earphones in your ears, walk across the street, get hit by a car... and THEN SUE! Since Americans are sue-happy, this is why these types of laws are put in place. To prevent you from being able to SUE somebody for your own stupidity.

You should run for president with a quote like that you would definetly win the popular vote.
