Boston Pee Party
Well it seems that everyone in Boston has pissed their pants over this one.

Men accused of hoax plead not guilty
By John R. Ellement and Andrew Ryan, Globe Staff
The two men accused of plunging metropolitan Boston into a panic with illuminated advertisements for a cartoon pleaded not guilty today in a courtroom packed with supporters and a crush of reporters.
The two men smiled broadly throughout much of the brief proceeding as Assistant Attorney General John Grossman described the battery-powered characters as "bomb-like devices." The men, Peter Berdovsky, 27, and Sean Stevens, 28, face charges of placing a hoax device in a way that causes panic and disorderly conduct.
The artists shuffled into Boston Municipal Court in handcuffs. Stevens was particularly animated, grinning at the gallery of about 40 supporters and raising his cuffed hand to give a low wave.
Judge Paul K. Leary seemed skeptical of the state's case, telling Grossman that the law requires that people must intend to create a panic to be charged with placing hoax devices. This case, the judge said, seemed to involve two men who relatives say were paid to place unorthodox advertisements throughout the city.
Grossman said that was a discussion for another hearing. The two men were ordered held on $2,500 cash bail, which they are expected to post later today.

Have you guys heard about the "hooplah" made over this? What do you guys think...... if you even care to discuss it.
Oh, yeah, I put it in the society forum because I didn't want to waste a spot in the breaking news spot.

Geeze, even if you have no idea what this is, why would you jump to the conclusion that it was a bomb? I have to admit I'm pretty biased towards the cartoon network/adult swim guys because I love adult swim and this show in particular, but really, what are people thinking. ( I do keep in mind that it may in fact be me who is crazy)
I've got to find you guys a picture of these guys at the hearing. They were laughing their asses off the whole time.

They had actually asked the question on Fox and Friends this morning if people thought it was a publicity stunt gone wrong or a deliberate attempt to cause a frenzy. Geez. I was so pissed. A lady actually called in and said she thought that ted turner was behind it because "he would do anything to make A meerica look bad." I'm slowly but surely losing confidence in my fellow americans.

I have a news channel on almost 24 hours a day, and yesterday they had Mass-EMA out in full force ! Bomb squads were dispersed thru-out the city, and they were blowing those "devices" up without a second thought. There was also a report today about those same marketing ploys being found in Chicago and Seattle, too.

What exactly do these "devices" look like? Presumably they ahve that advert on the front. Sheesh, if they were bombs they'd have "Death to the Infidels" written on. Or more likely nothing at all.
I'm sorry to say this guys, but you know it's true: Americans are extremely paranoid.
Although I suppose being the country everyone else wants to destory/conquer/laugh at while dining on fine wines and cheese kind of gives you a reason to be paranoid.

They were not necessarily the size, but no one is taking a chance with anything in this country anymore, and I have to tip my hat to MassEMA in handling something in the best possible way they could;

Well, I think that they should definately pay for the costs of deploying all of the resources, but I think that it was really all just an innocent publicity stunt and that people are being too hard on them.

I can't believe they didn't arrest higher-ups, and only went after those who put the so-called devices there. They were just doing there job. At least Time-Warner is paying for their lawyers.

Here's a good video clip of the story: wbztv.com - Part of I-93 Shut Down By Suspicious Device
I saw a picture of the two guys who did this laughing:
Then you see the huge amount of traffic caused by this incident. As a commuter, I really don't appreciate that kind of shit, so I say fuck em'.
