Racism can never be stop as long as there is a classs based system in the united states.......as long as minorities serve as the foundation of the lowest class and a few families own the majority of the wealth in our country...racism will be here..the rich will always pit the poor against one another and they will always use racial division as their tool

I would suggest you do an honest study of the word as far as racism is concerned. If you truly do care if the term is offensive to people such as myself than you would do some research. Calling someone a hybrid, or referring to someone as a hybrid, is akin to calling them a mulatto, half-breed or mongrel.

i don't think calling anyone a hybrid is seen as derogatory as much as half-breed or mongrel

I think that half breed and mongrel usually have a negative connotation. Hybridism usually results in hybrid vigor or heterosis, and thus has positive connotations, at least for those who know some science. Heterosis sure shoots a hole in the reasoning of those who advocate racial purity.

I would not like to be called one, I know that much. Hybrid and half-breed are too close for me.

I hadn't given it much thought. A brief search tells me that it a desirable trait to possess in a specimen. It sounds medical, and sterile to me. Non human in a way.

Genetics and selective breeding? Definitely not human.

Hybrid vigor or heterosis, of course, happens with humans, whether the parents got together through love or otherwise. My Dutch uncle was born and raised in colonial Java, Indonesia. He used to talk of the sadness of the usually beautiful Dutch/Indonesians who were frequently rejected by both races, both in Indonesia and in the Netherlands. Recently I read of mixed race Koreans in Korea who did not fit in, and as a result gravitated towards the arts, where the subject of the article became a rock star. The article stated that these racial crosses showed hybrid vigor, mostly being taller than other Koreans, and that the same was to be found in other Asian nations that the US military had visited. Later, I read an article discussing California high schools that had a high % of Asians and higher GPAs than those high schools with fewer Asians. Those Asians called those of mixed race, hybrids, with no negative connotations intended. My 2 grandsons are White/Phillipine crosses, and an adult nephew is a White/Ga from Ghana cross, and all show hybrid vigor, in my biased opinion, plus they have the benefit of knowing 2 or more cultures. My nephew has a Philipine/American girl friend, so there is the further possibility of my family producing more children with hybrid vigor. I sure like seeing it.

Not really sure what most others have said, but racism works both ways, just wanted to point that out in case it hasn't been.

Other countries don't reallly have much of a say. You let muslims try and take over your world, so whats your point. True story.
