Costs of the Death Penalty

Well that is because we have to keep them on death row for years before their executed, if we were to put them to death right away then it would be less than 100,000. Dont have them sitting in prison and wating to die as soon as they are found guilty put them to death, one sword one chop no more, easy, cheap no problem

Well-said--nothing to add to that.

That's an insult. Not the type that gets you an infraction, but still an insult. Killing a murderer is not stooping to their level. I'd say you insult the dead by putting them on the same level as that murderer.

I think that if the proof that someone committed a crime is practically irrefutable, then the death penalty should be applied.

I think the worst way to go is to either be dropped in a pit with lions or a tiger shark. A great white shark is too easy. It will kill you with one hit. A tiger shark is a smaller shark and it will take many bites and a lot longer to do the job.

There is this thing called DUE PROCESS OF LAW. Or are there that many fans of Josef Stalin on this site? If he gets convicted, he'll get the harshest penalty. But don't start saying he should be executed before a trial. That's a violation of our Constitution and enough of that has been going on lately to last eternity.

Let's say that this is a 100% Stalinist website. What are you going to do about?

I see you're an Obama fan. I guess you've fallen under the spell of "Change?" What change is he proposing anyways? Sorry, off thread topic. I was just making a hyperbolized statement to show you guys were getting a little hasty with "Eliminate him now" discussion. I meant no disrespect.

He is proposing that we get back to the subject of eliminating murderers. I second that proposal.

I can't speak for anybody else, but I would much rather spend $1,000,000 to kill these people than $100,000 to feed them, clothe them, and provide them with a place to live for the rest of their lives.
