I would personally support allowing anyone that has a permit to carry a concealed weapon being able to carry it anywhere both within the state where it is issued and anywhere in the United States. The permit to carry a concealed weapon requires a background check by law enforcement and, in many states, a profiency and safety test (which I endorse).

If a person has a legal permit to carry a concealed weapon they should be allowed to carry anywhere including courts, schools and even airlines.

Reciprocity is not 100% yet but it's slowly heading in that direction. Lets hope it gets there soon.

Texas passed a new part of the CHL law that allows for self protection even w/o a permit. If you go out you can keep a gun in your car and use it to protect yourself from crimes against you or an occupant.

Joe Horn of Pasadena Tx, went outside with his shooshgun, and killed 2 burglars after they emerged from his neighbors house, and did so against the advice of Police who he had on the phone during the entire burglary event. A cop even saw him kill the thugs. I don't think he's facing any charges.

Castle Doctrine at work.

Vegas and Reno may be anal due to the past history of so much gun violence and robbery, but then again, I think if I were a female and subject to the lustful, murderous desires of a scumbag like this, I'd be packing heat everywhere I went and take my chances in a courtroom. That isn't to be construed as advice to do so, just my musings based on a hypothetical..

I would have to agree. That only makes sense. We can't just allow people to walk into a store, say "I want that one," and walk out with whatever firearm they want--meaning there should be permit regulations, but as long as a person meets those standards, they should not be prevented from carrying the firearm they have a permit to carry--it might just serve to help prevent such future incidents as school shootings if law-abiding citizens with concealed firearms for that very reason find themselves in those situations. Obviously it's easier to say "people should take action" than to actually take action in a scenario like that, but as the citizens of this nation, we can't just leave everything up to the police and government. If I have a concealed weapon and permit and something like that is happening, I will try to do my part to bring the offender down to save as many lives as possible while the police are on their way.
