Cool THE ANIMAL'S SIDE OF RELIGION.

Some posters may think this thread is a little ridiculous or strange.
However, to quote the scriptures it was a dove who brought back the news to Noah,.
It was a donkey who carried Mary to Bethleham, it was camels who carried the three wise men that followed the star.
It was a donkey wcich carried Jesus into Jeruselam for the last time.
Today dogs are used to lead the blind, to protect us and when tragedy strikes they are used to find the survivors and the dead.
Not everybody likes animals, some like them too much.
There is one animal although considered a reptile that I left out and maybe more, but there was the serpent in the garden of eden that tempted Eve?
On the flip side just to make this a thread open to every body even non-belevers and atheist {whose right I respect} can not truthfully say animals have not and are not today useful to the development of soceity.
Ladies and Gentlemen I await your comments or veiws on this subject.

Well, because I’m a naturalist, I don’t think humans could exist without animals ---evolution, food.

And I don’t think we’re all that much smarter, through maybe a little more lucky---good hands, good throat (for making words), good brain. I think canines have as much free will as man, and if there is a destiny for man, there too is a destiny for animals, the same destiny.

Well, I agree with your post.
I would like to ask you opinion on a subject I think that is overlooked.
In todays world of development more and more wildlife animals are slowly encroching on civilised areas for food and shelter
Do you think this could be a problem in the future?
Wildlife reserves are some help but WELL?

There ought to be a way to live together. Although with human populations increasing exponentially, there isn’t too much hope. Have you ever seen the ideas for super cities? It’s a way of building higher, by making one building with a broad base the whole city.

Cool

Yeah, I've heard of these super cities.
I think that will have to come, maybe not in my lifetime but let's face people of the world are using up space.
As human populations grow it is my therory {theory mind you} that certain animals will evolve and learn to adapt to human surrondings.

As Zerochill pointed out, there are many creatures right now that are adapting. Such as, pigeons, cockroaches, and rats. Though I know that you mean many animals evolving to encroach on society. With time I think it is possible. In fact, people might purposely engineer animals to perform tasks like cleaning rivers or whatever.

But I would never underestimate evolution.

I understand that, about pigeons, cockroachs, and rat's.
However I was refering to larger mammles.
For instance the lioness very often can not be seen by the gazzel until they strike.
I'm not saying we will become the prey but how a lioness is able to hide and stalk her prey is based on years of evolution.
Not in my lifetime, but providing this planet survives I predict a new form of mammles that will be able to forage without being seen, to live without being noticed.
As I have said this is a {theory}, but I think nature will give animals what they need to survive.

Cool

In more than one city in the U.S. there have been packs of wild dogs spotted.
You think these "wild dogs" are exclusive to mutts?
That's not counting coyote's.
As for your dalmation and bulldog I think you forget their heritage, all dogs came from WOLF.

I'm not entirely sure of the point of this discussion, but I'll do my best.

Animals are extremely important to mankind, but it is probably equally important to note that the relationship isn't exactly a friendship. God made man to rule over the land and the animals of the earth. Even if you don't beleive the "God made" part, that still holds true and is pretty much irrefutable. The animals that thrive do so because we wish it. Cows and chickens thrive because we want them to. Polar bears and tigers will only be around because we want them to. Dogs, man's best friend, probably wouldn't exist in a tenth of their numbers without their intricate relationship with man, at the will of man.
