Don't feel bad, one of my teachers was convinced that atheists and satanists were the same thing... even though atheists don't believe in satan

I am an agostic, but was raised in a strict Calavnist Chirstian home. I attended Church untill about 5 years ago, and was even send to study theology and university so I could become a minister.

My whole family is still very Christian.

I was not brought up in a religious home. My parents were very secular, and sincerely questioned the existence of God, especially my father, who once told me he didn't really believe there was a God, when I was a child.

But being Hispanic, our families were brought up to attend Catholic services during funerals and occasional holidays. My father never attended though.

So obviously, I sincerely questioned the existence of God when I came of a certain age. But when I was 24 years old, I accepted Christ in my heart and converted to Protestantism. I haven't looked back since.

I am an agnostic with some deist tendencies. However, my position on a god is not central to my life and go throughout many of my days without ever thinking about it.

I was raised in a Jewish environment (there are not many Hispanic Jews, heheh) - that is to say, much of our surrounding family had Jewish background and heritage from our relatives. However, my mother was very much the black sheep in that regard and never forced the idea on me. She even allowed my sister to attend Christian church with one of her very good friends now and again, and we usually only celebrated three Jewish holidays (out of the many of them) such as Rash Hashana, Yom Kippur, etc. but after age eleven or twelve I began to move away from that line of religious thought. My parents did not scold me for it and in fact encouraged me to find my own position on the matter.

I still have a star of David necklace in my room (as a keepsake of my youth, more than anything) and if we are out of state visiting in the particular time of year then I will attend religious ceremonies at Temple in order to spend time with family, but it is mainly representational rather than a personal reason. I don't get much spiritual gain from going to Temple now and I am perfectly content not following a religion. I find that I can be a perfectly moral and happy man without a religious code to follow.

I used to visit a Messianic synagogue on Saturdays, which was a synagogue where Jews had accepted Christ as their Messiah, and there were actually a couple of Hispanic Jews there. (They spoke both Spanish and Hebrew) At the time, I didn't realize that was possible; but I think their mothers were Jewish, which made them Jewish too, even though their fathers were Hispanic. Or something like that.
