i agree.. t hats all there is too it. whether or not it holds people to higher moral standards (which is a good thing) it doesnt do anything except that.. along with higher standards for believers it forces them to base every decision that they ever make off of their belief, and how the actions they take now will affect them in the afterlife... in that case, the measn dont justify the ends..
it clouds their judgemental skills because.. well idk how to put this in less of a vulgar way, but it takes their balls away  ..

I used to be "anti-religion", but I just stopped caring after a while. I realized that I couldn't disprove the existence of God any more than a theist could prove it.

Yeah, that's the whole point right there. It can't be proven either way. Interestingly enough, though, I meet more atheists and agnostics who claim that religion doesn't exist--as a fact, than Christians who say God's existence is fact. Something to think about.
