Actually, most historians place JC's real birth date in March, 3 to possibly 16 years before 0 B.C. The there are two reasons why the dates vary so hugely.

1) Emperor Constantine, who legalised Christianity in Rome, set the dates on Christs Birth as the exact same as that of the Persian god Mithras. (Hence why we celebrate Christmas on December 25th)

2) During the dark ages, in around the 10th century, a monk tried to determine the exact year (as all records up to that point had basically been destroyed), he was out by a few years and so the exact year of Christs Birth is still a mystery (many put it at around 4B.C.)

Well, with science and better understanding of pregnancy you can pretty much pinpoint it to within a few days. Back then... I'm pretty sure you couldn't get even that close. Pregnancy was more of a mystery then than it is now.

Egyptian Sun (Light) God : HORUS 3000BC
Born on december 25th
Born of a virgin
Adorned by 3 Kings
Baptized at age of 30
Horus had 12 disciplines, performed miracles, resurrected after 3 days of crucified.

Greek God : ATTIS 1200BC
Born on december 25th
Born of a virgin
Crucified and resurrected 3 days after

Indian God : Krishna 900BC
Born of a virgin
performed miracles and upon his death, resurrected..

Greek God : DIONYSUS 500BC
Born of a virgin
Born on dec. 25th
upon his death he was resurrected

Persian God : MITHRA 1200BC
Born of a virgin
Born on dec. 25th.
Had 12 Discipline
Dead for 3 days and resurrected
Worship day was sunday..

Why dec. 25th. ? it is symbolism. Because shortest daytime is in dec. 22th. and the sun stay at that position (Stop moving to south) for 3 days (Death of the sun (God)) than in dec. 25th sun start moving 1 degree to the north and day time start increasing.(Resurrection) . When Sun stop moving to south, only visible thing is southern Cross(Crux) in the south (Sun crucified) ... BTW The Easter = Spring equinox , light over come to darkness (day time getting longer than night time)
