I was having a conversation about something like that to a couple of my friends who don't really know anything about politics or our country and I said that we cannot just go around legislating based on what people want. One of them, probably the dumbest one said, "but isn't that what America is all about?" So I asked him what about what is best for the country, and he said that doing what the majority of the people want is what is best for the country.

I think that if there will be a demise of democracy, and sometimes I think it might be inevitable, it will be because, like my friend, a good portion of our fellow citizens have no idea about how this place is supposed to be run.

I agree with you, mostly. What I think is sad is that a people who say they champion democracy is not sure what it is. Americans seem to have tunnel vision wshen it comes of politics. A lot of them have their opinion and will attack anything that doers not reinforce their belief.

we can start by implenting whats right and whats wrong
Marriage between man and woman has been around for centuries
this gay marriage crap is ridiculous.

Did u hear about that gay nativity scene that sparked an outrage by Christians and now will hurt gays more than anything
