So what exactly does your effort for her have to do with religion. I say nothing. If a parent loses a child, they have to deal with that reality. It isn't "god's plan" that it happened. Saying it is doesn't make it a fact and does nothing to help anyone. Do you even know the five steps of grief?!
1)shock
2)denial
3)reality
4)remorse
5)acceptance

Nowhere in those stages is the need to hear foolishness like "it was god's plan" ...well except one...DENIAL!

Correct. If you accept that people die, you get through the stages a lot easier. Also, I can't come to terms with the 'loving father' idea.

"Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of 10 things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these 10 things he has a special place full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry for ever and ever until the end of time...but he loves you."

Atcually there were 15 things on the list but Mel Brooks (playing Moses) dropped one of the tablets and it broke into pieces.

If you want to believe that life has no meaning and you just live and die, you can choose to. I'm not trying to save you. You asked me what good can come from the pain, so I told you. You asked if that is what I'd do in this situation, so I told you what I'd do.

It takes much imagination and observation to believe there is no god. It’s easy to have blind faith. Just don’t think, and everything will be fine. After all, ignorance is bliss. If you don’t challenge yourself to think very deeply there’s no chance of getting scared. And what if you don’t find meaning in life again. Only the brave choose to think beyond myths and fairytales.

And if what I said isn’t true, let lightning strike everyone in this forum.

I agree that this is true and yes, rather profound.
