Who did you vote for?

Okay, we have quite an international crew on this board. So I was wondering about party political affiliations.

Here is what I want to know from you.

1. Country
2. Which party did you vote for in your last National (or Federal) election
3.Are you a member of this party
4. What is this party's broad politcal view (in one short sentence, are they social-democrat, liberal, conservative, etc. etc. etc.)
4. Why did you vote for them?

To be fair, ofcourse, I will start

1. South Africa
2. ID (Independent Democrats)
3. Yes
4. Social-Democratic
5. The only party with a real ideology in SA. The ANC's policy is to rule, and the main opposition, the DA's, is to oppose everything the ANC says or proposes. No way to run a democracy. I also happen to agree with the party's policy.

1. Country USA

2. Which party did you vote for in your last National (or Federal) election Split ticket, voted against Clinton for NY senator and another Democrat who was misusing funds, voted for the local Democrat House representative

3.Are you a member of this party Registered Democrat, though I am more independent than a Democrat.

4. What is this party's broad politcal view (in one short sentence, are they social-democrat, liberal, conservative, etc. etc. etc.) Social-democrat.

5. Why did you vote for them? I used to think that they were a better party for the non-rich classes as well as for a better environment for racial minorities. My faith in the Democrat Party is badly shaken. I give a rats ass about Latino's and poor whites (as a group) after they turned on Obama.

I was too young to vote. However, given the chance I would've voted Democrat. Since then I have shifted right significantly. In the next election I will probably vote Libertarian.

the Democratic party's a progressive party. The Libertarian Party is, well, libertarian.
