I think the world is better with spirituality, but not necessarily religion. Spirituality, often encompassed by religion, provides people a higher meaning and depth to life, and is one of the core components of any half-decent life.
Religion is an evolution of this spirituality into an organization, and I think often corrupted for very poor means, such as profit or power. Not always, of course, but often--history will support me in this assertion. Would we be better off without religion? Maybe. Without spirituality? No way in hell.

Yes spirituality. What does one learn while worshiping? Pretty much nothing at all. But most of the time without religion, people have near to none spirituality. I possibly could live without religion but not spirituallity. To much religion is not good for it fills up the room for spirituality. I agree mostly with what you say.

Thank you. To clarify, I think each man should find his own conception of God or the spirit to worship, and foster a sense of oneness and compassion with others in himself. How I wish that, instead of the stern Father of the Abrahamic religions, we still worshiped and kind and loving Earth-Mother!

Yes.
I am catholic but I have my own perception on how god is. I follow the Catholic beliefs and believe most of them but the ones I do not I have my own ideas. One should come up with his own moral sense of beliefs.
