German authorities have confirmed that they charged the chairman of the NPD ( National Democratic Party), Germanys leading Nazi party with inciting racial hatred after nominating former Hitler deputy Rudolf Hess for the peace nobel price. he could face up to three years in prison for that.
Hess became famous for his flight to England in 1941, where he was captured, allegedly on the way to armistice negotiations with the UK. He was the last Nazi leader to remain in prison and died in his cell in Berlin 1987 apparently by suicide, aged 93.

I don't really see why that is inciting racial hatred. The guy did (apparently) try to end the war.
But when it's coming from neo-Nazis, you can't really trust that their motives are pure.

Hess didn´t exactly try to end the war. He tried instead to convince Britain to join forces with Germany against Russia. But the Nazis normally leave this part out.....

Really? I didn't know that. It makes sense though. Hitler always believed that Britain and Germany were natural allies, and that if they'd allied in WW1 they would have won (without American help) and could have divided up the world between them. He probably mentioned that to Hess at some point before the War, and gave him the idea.
