In many predominantly muslim countries christian or other minorities are allowed to produce , import and sell alcohol, like in Jordan or Egypt.
( i once awoke with a horrible hangover in Amman (Jordan) after a (muslim) wedding party. And it didn´t come from drinking tea with sugar)
Relatively secular countries like Syria or Lebanon more or less consider it your own business, if you want to live according to islamic rules or not.
And the Shiraz wine- grape has its name from the iranian city of Schiras, where it was cultivated for the first time.
Iranian national poet Hafis ( a Coran teacher by profession) raises many glasses of wine in his poems , also to the prophet , but hasn´t been banned from the schoolbooks yet.
