UFO science key to halting climate change: former Canadian defense minister Wed Feb 28, 1:04 PM ET
OTTAWA (AFP) - A former Canadian defense minister is demanding governments worldwide disclose and use secret alien technologies obtained in alleged UFO crashes to stem climate change, a local paper said Wednesday.
"I would like to see what (alien) technology there might be that could eliminate the burning of fossil fuels within a generation ... that could be a way to save our planet," Paul Hellyer, 83, told the Ottawa Citizen.
Alien spacecrafts would have traveled vast distances to reach Earth, and so must be equipped with advanced propulsion systems or used exceptional fuels, he told the newspaper.
Such alien technologies could offer humanity alternatives to fossil fuels, he said, pointing to the enigmatic 1947 incident in Roswell, New Mexico -- which has become a shrine for UFO believers -- as an example of alien contact.
"We need to persuade governments to come clean on what they know. Some of us suspect they know quite a lot, and it might be enough to save our planet if applied quickly enough," he said.
Hellyer became defense minister in former prime minister Lester Pearson's cabinet in 1963, and oversaw the controversial integration and unification of Canada's army, air force and navy into the Canadian Forces.
He shocked Canadians in September 2005 by announcing he once saw a UFO.

of course UFOs are real
Unidentified Flying Objects
absolutely exist, most are explained as either misidentified aircraft or some natural phenomena
there is a small portion which is unexplainable and those could be anything from spacecraft to inter-dimensional craft to who knows what
I believe that the US , Canadian , English , and possibly other governments know very much more concerning them than they have released to the public .

With how large the universe is, and how long it has been around, there is a real good chance intelligent life exists on other planets. Given how big the universe is and how long it has been around, the possiblity of our intelligent life forms will encounter another is greatly reduced. Right now, our fastest spaceship travels (I think New Horizon) about 40,000 mph after multiple gravity whips on it's way to Pluto. That will take 4 months. And we are not even out of our solar system yet, only about half way. Pluto is 4 billion miles away. Proxima Centauri is 4.2 light years away, being the closest star from our sun. At those speeds it would take over 70,000 years to reach it. There are no planets around that closest star that scientist believe support life. At least not that I remember.

Well, looks like we're going to have to wait until we develop a good stasis machine.

Actually just them being "little green men" aren't. More like tall grey men... but what am I saying there is no guarantee that you'd believe me. What would I have to do? I am greatly limited from providing proof on the internet. I don't have an internet camera and I don't have any sort of an uploader. So physical evidence is out of the question.
Perhaps you should go beyond you limitations of understanding what proof is and perhaps you could think a little more rationally rather than thinking of proof as just evidence or empirical data (data that is acquired from the senses).
Rationally speaking is where most people come to their conclusions about extraterrestrials being real if they didn't see it for themselves. Perhaps maybe if you think a little bit more rationally, you could come to grips about extraterrestrials without needing evidence to evaluate their existence. Not everything that exists can be explained through the senses.

I don't think we can yet see any planets the size of the Earth around those stars. Look the Earth orbits around a star in 365 days. It would take that long to detect our Earth's presense using our most advance method of seeing non-Jupiter size exoplanetary objects, if we didn't live here. Otherwize we would see it from the wobble it has with its star.
Would we honestly wait an entire year to check on one star for planets, when there are so many stars? Also that is if the star's planet orbits around its star like our's does. what if it orbited vertically rather than horizontally? What if the planet's Northpole is always facing us? Maybe that is the reason why we don't detect as many planets as we should?
