The Future Combat Systems (FCS) is a joint (across all the military services) networked (connected via advanced communications) systems of systems (one large system made up of 18 individual systems plus the network and Soldier- often referred to as 18 plus one plus one). A Soldier, linked to these platforms and sensors, has access to data that can provide a much more accurate picture of what’s going on around him. The Warfighter Information Network-Tactical [WIN-T] will be the backbone of the Army’s Future Combat Systems.

I checked this out and it sounds like the droid army in Star Wars I,II,III. All this is good theory, hopefully it is to try and make humans more able to survvive war, but I see the handprint of mucho money and someone making bazillions.

Infact , mobility, networking and drones would descrease the required number of troops, war machines in battlefield, that means future armies would hire less personnels. This would lower defence budgets as over all result. Instead, money would flew to R&D that has outcomes also applicable to civil technologies.

All of which is admirable, but I live in an area that sees govt contracts and the money made is obscene at times and any civilian benefits are miles down the road. Then usually only when a better military system is invented.
