IS this a joke?

38 percent of americans identify themselves as independants (gallup) that is more than republicans (28%) and democrats (34%)

Despite this, independant canidates have not pulled a single electoral vote since 1968.

How many states was Nader NOT allowed to run in again? In the majority of US states (31), in order for a third party to even get on the ballot they have to collect tens of thousands of signatures. Read the McCain Feinglod incombent protection law (campaign finance reform) then come back and tell us that third parties are not being hamstrung.

Pay attention to redistricting (I know it is boring). Democrats and republicans squabble about exactly how districts should be done. The one thing that is apparently NOT in dispute is the fact that independant minded districts WILL BE broken up. In the last 10 years in the states thathave been redistricted, there has not been one single district that went independant in preceding 5 years that did not get broken up.

While the democrats and republicans may squabble about other things, the one thing they seem to be able to agree on and ACT on is that third parites are BAD and need to be cut out of the action at all costs.

Delay and his group were the kings of gerrymandering.

Watching redistricting in Missouri was especially interesting, and a good demostration of the abilty to shift public focus from what matters to what does not. While the newspapers and politicians were making speaches about minority districts that were being redistricted (a move that in the ned had no effect) the powers that be silently chopped up some districts that had gone independant, which DOES matter.

Our cleaning lady's young marine son stationed in Iraq emails her messages she has related to us that would probably mortify him in front of his peers accustomed to hearing the winning team team mentality drummed into them for personnel adhesion and performance purposes. Polls are anonymous and most often forecast trends unavailable from spoken peer group opinions or mainstream media reporting.

well i wouldnt cop to that

did 20 years.....NO SOLDIER wants this to fail period , its been their lives, it has cost their friends lives

i would be surprised at what the demographics are of this poll and who was polled............ the more lower enlisted yes your theory would seem to hold true BUT they came for college, and BITCH about everything period(its what privates ) thus they would voice a little more than usuall for the anonimity but the data really would just reflect soldiers being soldiers..........

if this was at the career soldier level...........ya we have problems if this is what soldiers feel
