CHICAGO - After hibernating for decades, the nuclear industry is cautiously gearing up to build a new fleet of reactors to generate electricity, benefiting from political support while hoping to avoid the blunders of the past.
"Nuclear power is going to be an essential source, in my judgment, of future electricity for the United States," President Bush said this month at a press conference. "Nuclear power is renewable, and nuclear power does not emit one greenhouse gas."
