Well, let’s see. The cold war is what brought about Israel-American relations to this level. Prior to heavy support & armament supply by the Soviets to Arab countries, America refused sale of arms to Israel.
Most of the support budget is money which is spent (rightly so!) within the US, to support local economy as well. Funny the writer does not mention US 2.5 billions per year support of Egypt… Unlike Israel, they have no enemies or existent ional threats. Yet they built a big modern army, which Americans fear will fall into the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood, the mother & father of AQ.
|
I'll grant you that one, cut them off too. I'm sure we send money to all sorts of people that needs to be cut off. See I'm an equal opportunity cutter-offer. It's just as ridiculous for us to be supporting the Egyptian army, The Israeli army, or anyone else's army. If you want an army, build it on your own dime.

I hate to break it to you my friend, we don't really have to worry about Soviet schooled armies around the world anymore. You see, the Cold War ended a long time ago. The Soviet Union collapsed. Believe it or not they even tore the wall down in that German city too. I wish I could have been there. Itlooked like a hell of a party.

Application of true knowledge is a problem for you guys, since it proves how invalid your political views are. Sorry.

Well, it is certainly nice to know there is someone here we can all sit at the feet of and learn some valid political views.

Ground control to major Tom….
The cold war was over a short time ago. Only it brought about many factors to American policy making, and created the reality we see today. Your failure to grasp the issue stems from sheer lack of knowledge, combined with inability to grasp the total (not that simplistic, that means) picture.
You said Israel contribute nothing. I only pointed some issues. BTW, to this day, it is a treasure for American army intelligence, and the issues of Russian supplied air defenses to Syria, is very relevant. So goes with Israeli intelligence flow to the US, on topics you have o clue of, and for a good reason. One such a topic was published recently, the Israeli commando raid into Syria, which provided proof of N.Korean nuclear material in Syrian hands.
Actually, Israel is an asset to the US, in more ways then one.
America’s problem is hardly the (relatively) insignificant amounts it uses for influence buying, and some human aid. America is not the problem in the ME as well. And even few Arab intellectuals realize that-http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/0/0/0/0/0/66/1450.htm

And for what reasons did we choose to go to war?
This part is much more difficult to figure out for some folks.

I would like to add however that it really isn't countries anymore that threaten world peace, more like Fundamentalist Ideals.

Hard to tell. Some nations have the means to create destruction, but not the will. Other nations have the will, but not the means. I think that the more nations will trade with each other, the less these said nations would be ready to fight each other.
North Korea - which hardly trades with anyone (except fror China and South Korea) - could be a very great threat, if they have the resources and will to follow through with a hard-lined re-unification policy (basically running over the ROK).

Personally I would say any nation that embraces and includes religion in its policy is dangerous.
