I come from another forum that had zero tolerance to racist and homophobic slang terms and discrimination. I defend the right of a person to have a civil debate on such topics but they can do with out slang and vulgar terms. It is unnecessary and uncivil to use the words f*ggot, f*g, etc in a debate of gay marriage. Also statements of slander, which cannot be backed up with facts, or a source should not be tolerated. If you believe homosexuality is immoral because of your religion then you can voice your opinion with out vugar epithets .

On the other hand, allowing posters to use those words exposes them to the rest of the forum for the pricks they are. Since it's impractical to get rid of all venomous snakes, which kind would you rather have around, one with or without a rattle?

If someone talks about a person who says "f*ggot" (i.e. Ann Coulter referring to John Edwards) then that is acceptable. If someone describes gays as "f*ggot" this is against forum rule 3 and should be reported immediately.
