A group of friends were on another political forum, and there was a lot of insults and trolling going on over there. They came to this forum and we built up our little dynasty here. The forum was established to simultaneously have more civil discussions, and more traffic than that old political forum we came from.
The forum is owned partially by each moderator. Most of the mods came from that old forum, others we picked up along the way.

Well, I asked.
That doesn't bode well at all, but it explains much.
I had some suggestions based on other websites that have a LOT more members involved...but mods = owners? ..

Well why don't you tell me what you think is the best way to have the forum controlled? No harm in listening.

I like this place and I think the moderation is excellent. I haven't seen any intimidation or any of that sort that would degrade free speech. I have voiced very critical political views and haven't seen unbiased moderation so far.
Keep the good work going.

I'm glad you like it. It's hard to make everyone happy, but we try.

In defense of the moderators/owners of this forum I must say that they overwhelmingly do an excellent job. That is not to say that I haven't had disagreements with them but that is by far the exception and not the rule. Their dedication to seeing that personal attacks and trolling is immediately dealt with is excellent.
So I say Kudos to the moderators.

I'm glad to see more posters recognizing the hard work of the MOD SQUAD..LOL
As I have said in previous post.
The individuals of the MOD SQUAD don't get the notice and compliments they should.
Oh, and I too have been corrected by the moderators of this forum.
