News sources

Let's try something unique and put aside partisan politics for a moment to ask the following questions:

01. What is, in your opinion, the most relaible news source available?

02. What is the least reliable news source?

03. What medium do you use for news (Newspaper, magazine, radio, tv, internet)?

Again, save the political rhetoric and just answer the questions. Thanks.

For TV, MSNBC.

02. What is the least reliable news source?

I'm tempted to say FOX, but I think the real problem with Fox is mainly its opinion shows (Hannity and Colmes and Bill O). Also its other inane reporting like "Fox and Friends" and that fake news show that just smears liberals.

03. What medium do you use for news (Newspaper, magazine, radio, tv, internet)?

Yahoo news, which displays associated press reports.

Personally, I think most news outlets are reliable for the most part, and REALLY unreliable as well. When they report facts they are all about the same. When they distort facts by injecting opinion into the news they are not.

I try to get my news from whatever source is available. The paper in the morning, the radio and the Web during the day and a little TV at night (BBC, FOX and very little MSNBC). I used to surf the Shortwave bands for international news but I don't have that kind of time any more.

Well, I'm not sure which is the most reliable; but I do prefer to read the BBC news and Christian Science Monitor whenever I have time.

I don't read USA today. I've found that some of the details left out of their stories have been misleading. Maybe it's because the articles are just so short. *shrugs*

I listen to NPR on the radio while working out. If I'm watching television, I'll watch FOX, MSNBC, and CNN. I record BBC so that I can watch it when I get home from work.

If I'm online, I have my Yahoo account set to where it gets XML feeds from many sites and news sources. I don't like to stick to just one source, because I want to get the entire picture.

I watch FOX sometimes, but I sometimes can't take the personal opinions and shouting over each other whenever they disagree with their guests. It's too much negative energy for me. So I'll watch CNN and MSNBC for a change of pace. I do think that FOX television has a problem with being too opinionated and going overboard with it, though. So if I get news from them, it's usually through their website. I ignore the commentaries.

Most reliable major news would be BBC and PBS.
Least reliable is hands down Fox with CNN and WSJ not to far behind.
The internet is the most reliable source of news.

I rely heavily on the following sites:
Asia Times Online :: Asian news hub providing the latest news and analysis from Asia
Common Dreams | News & Views
The Daily Reckoning
Financial Sense - Uncommon News and Views for the Wise Investor
