A lot of right wing talk shows are just bigotry
Here's John Gibon (or Gibson, if you prefer) saying and mocking Rachel Maddow as a lesbian because he disagrees with her politics. (I didn't even know she was one, not that that has anything to do with the fucking Presidential race.)
John Gibson Mocks Rachel Maddow's Sexuality: "Ooh, Lesbians! Yummy!" - Media on The Huffington Post
Ya know, I don't approve of homosexuality, and I think it's a problem for the US, but even I don't condone this kind of shit. You don't just hate on people just to advance your own partisan agenda. This is just the most vile kind of character, attacking someone's sexual preference as a way to undermine their political beliefs.
Of course, there's also Limbaugh's racist Obama "the Magic Negro" and his insults against Obama's mother. Just disgusting and low class sorts of animals these people are.

Wow, just checked Wikipedia. She is gay, not that that fucking matters, as far as political arguments are concerned.

Ah dam, and here I was thinking the US actually elected a gay politician to some position of importance...when in fact she's just a "radio personality and political analyst".
Same as your views, I really don't understand why it should be of any importance whatsoever, yet obviously in the US it is a pretty big deal. Here in Graz, a couple of months ago a lesbian was elected vice-major and noone even bothered loosing a word about it. On a sidenote, I was also really shocked when I just read that almost 50% of US citizens don't believe in evolution...I don't know of any European surveys on that though.

I saw someone post a link to the 50% of Americans don't believe in evolution on another thread. I just waved my mouse over the link and it looked like a pro-creationist website. Where I grew up in NYC, I'd never even HEARD of creationism until I started coming to political forums many years later. I don't place much truth in that website.

I don't see why anyone should be concerned about gays at all. Who the hell cares if by some religion it is "immoral"? So what? They do not hurt anyone by being gay. If they want to "be damned to hell" that's their choice. Just leave them alone and let them enjoy their lives.
I'm sick of christians trying to make everyone conform to their ideals because it's their god given responsibility to save as many souls as possible.
LIVE AND LET LIVE.

What do you mean! We elect gay politicians all the time, they just happen to vocally denounce gays in public while having gay bathroom sex with men when nobody is looking!

Well, now that you mention it I do remember that case you'r talking about But is there a single gay politician that has "come out of the closet" in the US? From what I can tell from my experience and what surveys and whatnot show, I get the feeling that it'd be highly unlikely if not basically impossible for someone who openly states he's gay to be elected in the US to any higher position.

Haha, you have a valid argument there Still, I must say my experience with creationism has been similar as Web's. I personally have never heard anyone talk about it in Austria appart from when they were making a joke...so the survey that had only like 55% of Austrians believing in evolution did kind of "shock" me.

A Tiny Club: Openly Gay GOP Politicians
There are a few openly gay politicians in the U.S., quite a few more in the closet still. Some have the closet door open so you can see they are still in, but not coming out and stating that they are.
