Hugo Chavez. He's what you get when a autocratic lunatic is allowed to govern a major oil producer. The guy spouts nothing but verbal turds.

President Chavez is not an autocrat, he is the democratic representative of the Venezuelan people, they chose him thats why he is allowed to govern.

Americans currently tend to believe what our power elite owned & operated mainstream media spoon feeds to them.
I would agree with your statement if you substituted neocons for americans.

I wonder is it even possible to get non-opionated information about how things are going in Venezuela. I agree with what you said, but what I also think is that the other side is not neutral either.

I have understood corruption has been daily life in Venezuela in all levels for ages. Chavez is having his fun with his ideology and he enjoys bragging to the Americans, but behind it's just different people than before taking advantage of the situation, using and directing the resources in what's their intrest.

Legally speaking the system could be considered democratic on the paper. But how things really run and are done, what decisions are based on, is a different story. If this wasn't the case, why on earth Chavez would need to build this ideology of Revolucion Bolivariana so much? Clearly he is building something that will have the same role as what Cuban Revolutoin has. That will become something no one can say anything against. The official absolute truth kind of thing.

So what, so does Saudi Arabia and Egypt, the only difference is that they didn't call Bush names. The Venezuelans don't come close to the Saudiis in terms of human rights violations, yet Georgie runs around holding hands with thier leaders. meanwhile back in Saudi Arabia women are being violated and foreign workers practically being enslaved in worker camps.

Why do you think the Republican Party/Conservatives/Rush/Fox are attacking Chavez...and not the House of Saud??????

They both have oil, lot's of it.....according to your source Chavez oppresses his people.....nobody disputes that the Saudiis oppress women and non royalty Saudiis. What is the key?......what is the only difference??....I'll tell ya again....George Bush said "waaaaaa boohooo he said not nice things about me.....make him stop dady Karl" It's no more complex than that.

I bet that president will have to walk that fine line. Chavez will try to get Hillary to bad mouth George Bush, I say she won't. depending on how childish Chavez is that may be a problem to relations. Yes, it will be a good show.
