They don't want to declare independence, they are proud to be British, it's mainly British farmers etc who live over there. When the Argentineans invaded, they locked up a lot of the people of the Falklands, the people of the Falklands are proud to british, and like us even more, because they saw that even though we were thousands of miles away from them, we still came for them, and even developed a new type of bomber, the V-bombers which could be refueled in air to save them from the Argentineans. If i lived there, and was living fine under British rule, and then Argentineans came to say they wanted the land, but also treated you very badly, i don't think they would want to be part of Argentina.
