Canada has got to get out of Afghanistan

We shouldn't have gone in there in the first place and it's a complete waste of resources and time.

How many more good people are we going to have see come home in a casket before our government wakes up and realizes that fighting in Afghanistan is a fruitless exercise?

We shouldn't be there...shouldn't have gone there...we should be bringing our military home. Period.

This doesn't reflect my stance on anything but there is a joke about how Canada upped it's force in Iraq by One ship 2 airplanes and 500 troops that about equals One Mounty in a Canoe with a flying squirrel
But on a more serious note i don't think anyone who isn't a Iraqi should be there.

Perhaps our special forces (JTF2) is there...or was there...possible. And maybe there are 500 Canadian soldiers in Iraq...regardless of the numbers I don't want Canadian troops in Iraq OR Afghanistan. Mind you I'd rather the U.S. not be there either, but that's for another forum.

We belong there, as part of the UN forces.

We have international obligations.

Afghanistan poses a threat to every Western nation, us included. The fact we have our local fifth column (“Islam) operating there, some as terrorist training camp commander, speaks volume as to our responsibility. We have to be there, just like our forefathers were in Europe in WW1 & II.

How does Afghanistan pose a threat to every western nation? It barely functions as a country, as it is in reality a series of warring states with a figurehead governent. It could barely muster anything resembling an army. Throughout recorded history Afghanistan has constantly been at war with itself. Another fact that should be noted about Afghanistan is that no invading force has been able to conquer it. The Greeks failed failed some 3000years ago, the British tried to add southern Afghanistan to the indian colony and failed miserably, the U.S.S.R had their asses handed to them back in 79. Alll nations should get the hell out and take a lesson from history for once before we see more people come back in boxes.

There isn't 500 canadians fighting in Iraq, granted thier might be some in the trades our militarys do, but if there is 500 canadians fighting there, they weren't trained or are part of the canadian armed forces (except for the military trades)

i think that canada should stay in, untill there is atleast relitive peace, the problem is Al-qudrea is on the rise

Cronins right

if there are 500 Canadians in Iraq it is probably because they crossed the border and joined the US army just like during the Veitnam war
