Who said all our problems are the result of illegal immigration. Saying the Mexicans have a moral right to be here is like saying as soon as I trespass on your property, I have the same rights as you on it.

Many of the Mexicans who come here are criminally minded, they have already broken one law, what's to keep them from breaking others. Since you're from France, I'm sure you wouldn't mind if we sent our illegals your way.

We're just like any other country. We have borders and immigration quotas. We expect citizens of other countries to respect those borders as we do theirs.

I find that VERY hard to believe. Not unless you are suggesting that half of the 100,000s of people trying to cross the border every year are criminals. Maybe now that the security is tighter mostly criminals are trying to pass, but that was almost certainly not the case in the past.

You are challenging an ancient concept without supporting reasons. The only logical replacements for national soveriegnty I can think of are either total anarchy or world goverment. Yet I cannot even tell which you are pushing for.

If there is a third way I did not think of it and you did not let me in on it.


Think on it, if you cannot defend an idea you should consider the possiblity that you are wrong.

Baxter, the supposition that most on this board are Republicans is ridiculous. I say this as a patron and moderator on this board since its inception. I've seen how many have come and gone. Usually, it seems to me that it's the conservatives who don't stick around the longest. So that little "Well, I'll use that as an excuse if my argument doesn't go over" is bunk.

I am a sympathizer of illegal immigrants, and wish the immigration quotas to be drawn down, so as to allow for more immigrants each year. However, we have got to have some sort of regulation of how many people enter a country. If you have a hard time selling this idea on me (and I'm pretty liberal on this issue), then I think you should step up your argument or the conservatives around here are going to eat your argument for breakfast.

If you do not have sensible regulation you will end up in the same position the UK now find themselves in.

Specific parts of the UK have been inundated with immigrants, who through no fault of their own are overwhelming the Health Service, Schools and other public services in those areas.

As for taking Americans jobs, I am not so sure that is the case.

It appears in most cases, immigrants tend to pick up the overspill, in other words, vacancies that are extremely difficult to fill, due to poor wages, bad working conditions etc. etc.

In the case of illegal immigrants crossing from Mexico, I am not sure you can place blame on the illegal immigrants themselves, what else are they supposed to do to feed their families, thanks to NAFTA.

Whereas before NAFTA, common ground was always readily usable for the most poor within Mexico to grow food etc. etc. Now of course all that land has been sold off to mainly American companies, who reap the benefits thereof, at the great expense of the poorest Mexicans. If you had a dire need to try and keep your family fed, what would you do? The same probably.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics 20% of illegal immigrants are working in construction jobs, which are considered highly sought after and high paying by American workers. Therefore, they are taking jobs that Americans would do.

Welcome to all immigrants, as long as you don't drain our systems, and you do it by the book.
We are all good with the poor illegals, the poor children, the poor people, WHAT ABOUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, they drain our social systems so bad it isn't funny, they bring in drugs to poison American kids, they come here and kill American's ( car accidents, shootings, drunk driving, I could go on forever.) And what do we do? Send them back the their home. They arn't afraid of our legal system, when it comes to illegals they get a slap on the hand. Go the their country and do the same crap they get away with here. You will be locked up forever, or excecuted hmmmm
The anserw is simple those that have been here created a live contributed to sociaty, share their part of the load, give them a year or so to learn ENGLISH, file the paper work, cut threw the bs, finger print them and give them their papers. Those that are here illegally and draining our system, GO HOME. No welfare, no anything other then helping them get home. We ARE a receptive people, but when it comes to the welfare of our country we need to take care of us first, we have people so poor in the Ozarks their kids don't have shoes, THESE ARE AMERICANS, they are our people, we have old people dying every day in their homes because they can't afford to eat or heat their home or stay cool, and we let the illegals live in government housing for little to nothing. How many millions of dollars are being spent on people that are sending it to their homeland.
Don't get me wrong I am prejudice, aginst treating the true american people like the second class citizens.
I don't care where they come from, what color they are, or what religion they have, if they are here illegally SEND THEM HOME.
