I agree that the source of stopping illegal immigration is stopping the employers that hire them for sub standard wages which will never happen as long as the political parties are married to special interests. Securing the border is also a must

However, you can not simply deport the 12 million who are here. They should have the opportunity to get legal status. Mitt Romney and other immigration hawks are unreasonable when they think we can simply scour the country and send home 12 million undocumented immigrants over night. Many have families here and if they don't they probably send remittances home and will leave if there is no work. Done deal.

Do you live in a closet? Have you not heard of the new tough on illegals laws passed in Arizona, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Mississippi which has resulted in a mass exodus of illegals from those states. All at very little cost to American taxpayers. Attrition through enforcement results in SELF DEPORTATION.

The current immigration laws are based upon a rating and quota system. If you are British and educated you can immigrate to the United States on a whim. If you are uneducated and from Latin America you could wait an entire lifetime before your number comes up.

People complain about illegal immigrants using services but fail to recognize that these people are paying the taxes as well. They have income tax and FICA taxes withheld. They rent apartments and therefore pay the property taxes on those buildings. They pay sales taxes when they buy something. This is a bullshit argument.

People say that Americans will do the jobs the illegals won't but that they will want more money. So, you want to pay $2 for an apple? Try doubling your food bill and see how that effects you. Of course Americans won't do many of these jobs for minimum wage and not even for double minimum wage so do we just do without apples and other foods that are harvested by immigrants or do we pay twice as much for them? Take your pick.

I say change the laws to allow legal immigration without quotas or rating systems. Make immigration policies that fit our needs instead of discriminatory based upon ethic origin. Let supply and demand for labor dictate who comes here for employment. Make it legal for people to immigrate and you solve the illegal immigration problem.

I've been wondering whether on not you're part of Calderone's new 100 million campaign to soften up the US on the illegal Mexican invasion? Why don't you tell Calderone to keep his nose out of American affairs.

The whole point is, if you don't give them jobs that americans can and will do, we won't have to deport them. They won't have jobs and they will leave.

Wow! For the life of me I just can't understand why an educated British immigrant would be favored over an uneducated 3rd world Latino. Could it be that the British speak English, are very employable, and assimilate seamlessly? Your 3rd world Latino on the other hand would be standing on the corner near a Home Depot looking for work, not speaking English nor ever assimilating but just disappearing into the little Mexico ghettos.

Are you some sort of Marxist Anarchist or what? Or are you just following the Calderone approved propaganda?
