So another WW II related topic :
German and austrian authorities step up the hunt for the last high ranking Nazi war criminal who according to intellegence information is still alive.
Aribert Heim, known under the nickname "Dr. Death" was like Josef Mengele responsible for thousands of medical experiments on concentration camp prisoners and also mentally disabled patients. His "studies" earned many a horrific and painful death.
Aribert Heim would be 93 by now and went into hiding in 1962........

Hopefully they catch him before he dies of natural causes, like Josef Mangele. Its so unfair that Mangele got to die of natural causes and not pay for his atrocities. On a further note, how come in all these articles it allways emphisizes the death of only Jews and never says anything about the gypsies, poles, czechs and other non germans? I think that everybody should be recognized as descriminated against not just one.

There is no real way to punish them. A 20 yr old in 1942 would now be 85. Why waste money punishing old men?

Here is is at least indicated " the Mauthausen inmates" were definitely not only Jews. But you are correct though that other groups often don´t get as much publicity. May i add that also Germans were among the victims and concentration camp inmates : Kommunists, members of democratic parties, christians, gays, and all kinds of enemies to the regime. Sometimes telling a joke about Hitler could bring you there.......

I disagree. If they are able to catch him he should pay for his deeds at least by ending his days in a prison cell and not on a latin american beach or wherever he may be.

I also dissagree with your statement as ending your life in a prison is far worse then kicking the bucket in your home bed with an ocean view.

Putting a 93 yr old man in prison is just stupid. It's a waste of money and time.

Was he a criminal that deserved death? Yes, but no sense wasting more money on this.

Like in the case of Erich Priebke. He was responsible for a massacre of italian civilians close to Rome in 1944, was found in Argentina in 1994 by an ABC reporter, and later extradited by Argentina to Italy, where he is still serving a life sentence, at over ninety. He may have imagined his last years in a nicer environment.........
