First arab gentile among the nations nominated

You can recieve the title of a "gentile among the nations" if you helped jewish victims of the holocaust and hopefully saved their lives. The israeli holocaust council Yad Yashem will investigate the stories of survivors on who provided help for them and as long as you´re still alive you will be invited to Israel to be honoured.
Almost sixty years after the foundation of Israel many were so convinced a story like this can´t be true that this particular case is getting attention...
There were Arabs who risked their lives to save Jews from the Nazis and the first one is getting awarded ( posthumously)

Well, has Israel acted in a way that they CAN honor someone? Would anyone want an award from Israel?

Many supposedly not. But Yad Yashem has nothing to do with politics and is not a governemental agency or council....
