I know practically nothing about William F. Buckley Jr., except that he was a conservative before it was "cool to be a conservative." I don't know what many of his views are, and it would not surprise me if I found something abhorrent in them after further study, however he seems to conduct himself with some kind of class and style. I thought I would just post this video of him speaking about the 1968 election here:

I saw part of one debate between Buckley and Vidal and he was just insulting the hell out of him, called him all sorts of names. The video quality was poor, but it was kind of amusing.

I also saw a video entitled Buckley says he wants to strangle Chomsky or something like that. However, I still believe that on the whole Buckley's style and class were miles above gutter trash like Rush Limbaugh and morons like Michael Savage.

I agree with Buckley on almost nothing political, but I respected him greatly. He was an extremely intelligent man, and, I think, very honourable.
