Stalin is a disgrace. He murdered thousands of innocent people who disagreed with him. The man was a tyrant.

Before Stalin joined with Lenin, he was a gangster. He merely became a gangster at the helm of a superpower. I guess the power made him into even more of a monster than he already was.

Stalin is responsible for the deaths of over 40 million people. I hardly call that representative of good ideas.

He holds the crown above all others as the biggest genocidal maniac, above Mao Ze-Dong, Adolf Hitler, and company. Some great company there.

Yes, but he did dramatically help the Russian economy, caught up industrially to other Western nations and built up the Russian infrastructure. (From what i remember from my Modern History class)

Yeah, Stalin was a butcher alright, he would make Huisan look like the tooth fairy.
However sometimes you need a butcher to stop a butcher,.
Case in point he stopped the Naxies and Hitler and that was after Hitler declared victory at Stalingrad.
Don't get me wrong Stalin was an asshole and a butcher I doubt if anybody will ever know the amount of people that he was directly or indirectly responcible for killing.
However in Russia today he is in a lot of circles considered a great man and a hero of the Soviet Union.:cool
And you have to wander if Russia hadn't came into the war against Germany how the war against Germany would have turned out, or how much longr it would havedragged on.

Stalin was an able but extremely ruthless autocratic politician. He committed crimes so bad that he has earned alone for them a big entry in each and every history book. Millions of Russians died because of his politics in forced labor camps or by other means. At least in this regard he acted according to the principles of a state of equals as those at the elite were not safe from his murderous politics either, perhaps even more endangered as the simple people in his state.

Stalin was a massmurderer in first line he was also a somewhat able dictator. Nothing to be proud of.
