Republicans for Single-Payer

To be successful, a Single-Payer Universal Health Care approach must be a non-partisan issue. While Colorado's Single-payer plan that is currently being considered was written by a Republican doctor, I've yet to find even one Republican politician anywhere in the country that endorses a Single-payer approach. Although Ron Paul, Libertarian and Mike Huckabee, Republican both make most the cases for single-payer, but don't actually come out and endorse it.

I friend of mine has started a website Republicans for Single-Payer Universal Health Care - we need help promoting it. If you know Republicans that are ready to get rid of the for private health insurance dinosaurs and go with a system like Medicare for everyone, please send them to this website. Also if you have a way to get the word out about the website, that would be great.

Access to health care has to be a non-partisan issue.

Thank you - discussion ?

I've also heard it mentioned that a majority of Americans are for Single-payer. I'm a Single-payer advocate, but I don't believe the statistic - I'd be surprised a significant portion of Americans even know what Single-payer even is. This makes us vulnerable to health insurance industry attack ads.

We all need to help get the word out that is we would take the money that is now going to health insurance industry overhead, profits, lobbying and instead use it for health care - we could cover everyone.

I had Medicaid coverage; the quality of service I got was so poor, I stopped using it, and now for health care I drive across the border into "3rd-world" Mexico, where I get better health care. Should we force crappy health care onto everyone; I say hell no, no way to that.

I don't believe the idea is to force crappy healthcare on everyone, Ben. The idea is to force a change that will keep you from having to flee the country to get better care.
