This may fit here....... I think

This has got to be the dumbest story I've read today, and it's only 8:01am.
News4Jax.com - Local/Florida News - Police Chief Ousted After 'Jelly Belly' Memo
Quote:
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- A Florida police chief who wanted officers in his department to get into better shape is out of a job because of his memo that urged the "jelly bellies" to shape up.
I thought that they were supposed to be cops, not a bunch of sissies.

again. "Land of the Offended" syndrome. ^_^

police officers should be required to stay in shape all the way up to the day they retire. it shouldn't matter if you are at a desk job or what. of course... it should be made available to them, since they won't do it otherwise, obviously. but, when your job requires what their job requires.. they should have to be physically healthy. honestly.... you don't want your obese police officer having a heart/asthma attack while chasing a bad guy, do you?
our soldiers have to stay in shape... why shouldn't the police?
