I wonder, what happens in 2015 when there are still large numbers of obese people, if not more (which is my prediction)?

Pepsi--I agree with you--junk food will be consumed by those who crave it until it punishable by death.
I do not particularly like junk food, but damn, I wanna eat some now, just to be rebellious.

Yep. I'm way too fucking stupid to know better.
I never really ate KFC anyways, or any fast food for that matter, unless I'm in a real hurry and can't stop by my house. It's kind of funny because there was a time that I did eat a lot of fast food, and during that time I actually craved it, but now, since I've weened myself off of it for about a year, when I do "have" to eat it, it makes me feel sick as hell. I had to eat Wendy's yesterday because I had to work out of town and I thought I was getting vertigo or something. I was really tired and felt like throwing up.

I hate to sound like a pessimist, but I'm not too sure how much longer the US has as a nation. My general assumption is that we will fall in about 10 years with the way things are going. Anyways, if something like that did happen, it's going to be sad seeing all of these grossly obese people trying to deal with the harder times. I hope this doesn't happen, but with the myriad of problems that are not getting fixed, I'm not ruling it out.
Geeze, what if they did have to bring the draft? What percentage of people would be just way too fat to join? I guess we could give them ATV rascal skooters.

I avoid junk food/fast food 95% of the time. I try to make a plan of picking up fruits for snacks during the day rather than eating at a fast food place. It seems hard but it really is just as convenient as fast food. However, BS like this trans-fat ban just emboldens the government to feel as if they have the right to teach us 'ignorant hayseeds' something we can't do on our own. If I decide to sit back and munch on a chocolate chip cookie or some french fries, I should be able to.
@ FRY, I see what you mean but I think this country will hit a critical mass sooner or later. I think obesity is going to take a generation to correct itself, such as lazyness in society will generally take a generation or so to correct itself. I don't buy into the thinking some have that unhealthy parents make the same type of kids because if that were true I would be smoking a pack a day and eating unhealthy food frequently right now, not to mention shunning exercise. I think if parents are unhealthy but raise their kids to be somewhat bright, the kid will learn from the mistakes of their parents in one aspect or another - be it health, finances, schooling, etc. The country will reach a point, in my opinion, where we see obesity incredibly prevalent and hopefully more companies will make concious choices (like KFC) rather than Govt dictating (NYC), which will cause people to take a deeper look at themselves.
